METHODOLOGY · INDEPENDENT

How a route earns its place in the database.

Every route in Motobikers is ridden, recorded and reviewed by a human rider before it ships — never scraped from a mapping API, never auto-generated from a popularity heat-map. The contributor network is 180 riders across 34 countries, including six IAM and MSSG-certified instructors, who carry a standardized logging kit: a GPS tracker, a daily elevation and surface diary, fuel and lodging notes, and a written brief on what surprised them.

The editorial desk then audits the GPX for fidelity against the contributor's diary, reconciles any deviation against current satellite imagery, and adds the three difficulty axes — technical surface, altitude exposure and remote-rescue distance — so a rider planning in March in Warsaw can match the route to a July window in the Rockies without guessing. Routes that fall below our review threshold are pulled, not silently buried.

The 11,000+ route database has been built continuously since 2007. It is the same archive that MCN, Rider Magazine and the Adventure Motorcycle University have cited as a reference, and the same dataset that powers the trip-planning tools inside the Brotherhood.
